OK; this is just brilliant.  Qwitter

qwitter-no-smoking-743715.jpgStumbled across this on a swell blog entry about Twitter tools. It's an application of Twitter for creating a social network of folks on the path to quitting cigarettes.

Having been down that path myself (10 years+ no smoke!) I know its worth trying any tool, grabbing any branch, taking any hand that will help. This looks like it could be a great help at staying motivated.

Motivation is the crucial part of the quitting stew. It's sooo hard to stay with it.  This is something I know, having been in the "tried quitting" group for over 20 years.  (Not counting the 10 years or so before that when quitting didn't cross my mind.)

It looks like the Qwitter site and Twitter-based tool were put together by Tobacco Free Florida (http://www.tobaccofreeflorida.com/). That site is also well made and full of information, motivational ideas and messages and more tools to help a quitter stay on track.

Don't know if Qwitter will help everyone who comes across it but I'm sure that it can help a few. It's certainly worth a look if you are -- or someone you know is -- trying to quit.  Qwitter (http://qwitter.tobaccofreeflorida.com/)

Great use of Twitter. Swell idea.  yay!
