Apple Leaves the Door Open ~ Still No Flash on iPhone 3

Apple brought out the iPhone 3GS a few weeks ago with all kinds of swell new features including a lot that have been "missing" from the iPhone platform. Like cut-and-paste; at last. So you know they're either listening to consumers or they're feeling Android and Palm coming up from behind, or both.

So; why then is there still no Flash playing on iPhone 3?

We've been cutting some slack for the magic bit of glass on this matter right from day #1. Apple said that they were listening and got Adobe to say that Adobe's problem that the iPhone / iPod Touch can't play Flash. Apple said that it wasn't compatible with the old iPhone hardware. And, for a long time, both Apple and Adobe have been "collaborating" on a fix.

This is a very big door that you're leaving open Apple. One that Android has already driven through, and quite handily. If you're leaving it up to Adobe to fix, well that's a little like watching for your order of round tuits to arrive. Flash runs OK on Windows Mobile and Android so the Adobe incentive might be getting thin. Better step up to this yourselves, Apple.
