AVG Free: Better Than Ever and Still Free

I came across a post recently, on a support forum somewhere, saying that AVG's free antivirus was expiring and looking for a replacement.  That isn't correct, of course; AVG Free Antivirus is alive and as robust as ever. It has no expiration date.

AVG's free edition does not, of course, include all the bells and whistles as the paid-subscription version.  If you want spam filtering with your antivirus and/or you want a fancier firewall than the one supplied by your operating system then you may want to look at a subscription. (It's still leaner and faster than the bloated and sluggish offerings from McAfee and Symantec.

On the other hand, the free edition of AVG antivirus always tests well against the other big names in the field and ... it's FREE.  Can't touch that.

FYI: I use AVG free combined with MS-Defender for antispyware and the built-in firewalls in Windows and our routers. All snug and secure. Thanks.
